Cultural Landscapes

Role: Research on Indian Cultural Landscapes

July 2019 - Present

This trifocal research led to the first draft for a book on Conservation, Management and Development of Cultural Landscapes of India (a handbook for conservation professionals). The focus areas of the research were:

  1. The evolution of concept of Cultural Landscapes in India and its differences from the west

  2. Understanding the impact of Ecological, Anthropological and Ekistical aspects on the Cultural Landscapes

  3. Preparation of draft guidelines for Conservation, Management and Development of a Cultural Landscape in India

Envisioned as a three-part book - 'What are Cultural Landscapes?', 'What are the parameters in determining Cultural Landscapes?' and 'Conservation, Management or Development?' - the research serves as the culmination of existing theories on cultural landscapes and experiences of the author in the field into a user-manual for stakeholders of Cultural Landscapes of India

Additionally, articles of this research were presented at various international symposiums
